What Happens Next?
After we receive your application form, documents and the applicable processing fees, your application will be processed, and you will be assigned a Trent University student number. We usually acknowledge the receipt of the application documents by e-mail. The processing time for all applications is usually 3-5 business days.
• Complete Application
If after processing of your application, we will find that it has all the required documents we will make an admission decision on your file. If your current grade average is 80% or higher (Canadian equivalent), you will automatically be considered for a University Entrance Scholarship of CDN$1,000 – $2,500, which will be applied towards your tuition fees.
• Incomplete Application
If we find that your application is incomplete, we will notify you of the missing documents, and your application will be put on hold until everything is received. Once everything is in place, an admission decision will be made.
Normally, processing and assessment of admission files takes about one to three weeks. However, it might take much longer if your file is missing any of the required documentation or we find that we need to receive additional documentation from you.
Once the admission decision has been made, an official notification letter will be couriered to the mailing address indicated on your application form. If admitted, it will be a Letter of Acceptance along with other important information on how to proceed further. Some applicants might be offered conditional admission, usually conditional upon successful completion of their current studies and receipt of the official final transcript. In that case, make sure to send us the necessary documents as soon as they become available. It is important to realize that if you do not meet all the conditions of your acceptance, your admission will be revoked.
Transfer credit evaluations for eligible applicants are done once our offer of admission is accepted. It might take up to three weeks to complete the transfer credit process, provided that the Transfer Credit Assessment Fee is paid and all the course outlines are submitted on time.
We value every application and try our best to make sure that we process your admission file in a timely and efficient manner.
